Facebook just hit the 750 million user mark

A year ago, Facebook hit the 500 million active users milestone. Now TechCrunch is reporting that the worlds most popular and largest social network has just reached the 750 million user mark. Just 250 million to a billion? Wow!
Facebook counts its active users as those who log into their accounts at least once every 30 days. So the count does not include people who have created an account and then stopped using the service.

750 million for an online social network is a big thing. That's about 11 people for every 100 in the world and more than double the entire US population. By contrast, as of this March, Twitter had about 175 million 'registered accounts'. This includes everyone who joined and then stopped using it, and also businesses.

People are expecting Facebook's next user count update when they reach a billion users.
