View Your Own Messages in Conversation View on OS X Lion's Mail Application

Apple's OS X Mail app is pretty good. It integrates well with the operating system and manages popular web based email services like Y! Mail and GMail really well, just like its iOS counterpart. It even supports the threaded conversation view, which is now commonplace in many online email services as well. However, by default (at least in 10.7 Lion), your own replies to emails in this view, so in an email conversation, you basically see only the other person's incoming messages in order when reviewing.

Here's how to fix that. It's really simple.
  1. Open the Mail app.
  2. On the menu bar at the top of the screen, go to Mail, Preferences.
  3. Go to the Viewing tab.
  4. Under the section 'View conversations', check 'Include related messages'.
I don't know why it's called that, but this should enable your own messages in conversations.
