Google Cancels Android Event Because of Hurricane

Google's highly anticipated huge Android event was scheduled for Monday this week in New York City. It was rumored that along with a new version of Android, a new Nexus tablet and/or a smartphone would be announced to the attending press.

But Hurricane Sandy came along and delayed everything.
New York governor Andrew Cuomo has issued a state of emergency for the state and flooding is expected in the lower areas of NYC as well.

A Google rep was asked by Danny Sullivan of Search Engine Land whether the event was still taking place. He got the reply:
"We are canceling our Monday morning event in New York due to Hurricane Sandy. We will let you know our plans as soon as we know more."
It is currently uncertain by how much the event got pushed.
