Kindle books outselling all others on Amazon

A while ago now, Amazon was selling more Kindle books compared to paperbacks. But now, since April 1, more Kindle books than all physical ones. Bye bye paper.

For every 100 physical books (hardcover and paperback) since April 1, 2011, Amazon has sold 105 Kindle books. And this figure does not include the free books on the store.

In the UK Kindle Store, since April 1, Kindle books are outselling hardcover books on a ratio of 2 to 1.

Also, by the way, the recently introduced Kindle with Special Offers is the highest selling gadget on Amazon. Because it is cheaper, there will be a lot more readers. Lots of readers equals higher sales. Higher sales equals more lopsided ratio of e-books vs dead tree books and an even earlier phasing out of paper.

Or maybe that will take a while.
