Adobe Makes Creative Suite 2 Free To Download

Adobe's Creative Suite includes a large number of media-editing and production software, such as Premiere, Photoshop, Photoshop Elements, InDesign and more. While the suite has evolved and developed a lot over the years, CS2 from 2005 is a very powerful set of software that is very capable of doing some real work. It is now free for download from Adobe.

Downloading Adobe CS2 requires an Adobe account that can be created for free here. The suite includes the following software:
  • Adobe Creative Suite CS2 (Standard)
  • Acrobat 3D 1.0 (Windows)
  • Acrobat Standard 7.0
  • Acrobat Pro 8.0
  • Audition 3.0
  • GoLive CS2
  • Illustrator CS2
  • InCopy CS2
  • InDesign CS2
  • Photoshop CS2
  • Photoshop Elements 4.0/5.0
  • Adobe Premiere Pro 2.0
The suite is available for both Windows and Mac users. However, the Mac version is not for modern Intel-based computers. You can only install it if you're on Snow Leopard or lower (Rosetta required on Snow Leopard).

You should get an email from Adobe with keys to install the apps. I currently cannot verify whether the suite can be downloaded on multiple computers from the same account because the website is down due to heavy traffic. Keep trying until the website comes up and let me know in the comments if the process went smoothly enough.

UPDATE: Apparently, Adobe didn't mean to give the software away for free. CS2 activation servers are being retired and they wanted old customers to be able to still use the product without upgrading. See this discussion on the Adobe website.

UPDATE: The product is now freely available to anyone, even without an Adobe account
