iPhone 5 may be announced on October 4

Reportedly, Apple has sent out some invitations to an event held on October 4th of this year. We are all hoping (and almost sure) that this is to finally announce and release the much-awaited and overdue iPhone 5.

But apart from that, this event is also significantly more important for the Cupertino-based company.
This will be the first time Tim Cook, Apple's new CEO will represent the company as the chairman in a media event.

The rumor mills have cooked up lots and lots and lots of info about the next-gen iPhone. While how many of them are true, we don't know anything about.

Apart from the next iPhone, it is said that we can also expect a slightly cheaper, simultaneous model of the iPhone, which is being dubbed as the iPhone 4S. There have also been some recent rumors about a white iPod touch and minor new versions of the iPod nano. So does that mean there are new iPods coming out too?
