MacBook Air and Mini updated, white MacBook discontinued

The MacBook Air is no longer the underpowered and overpriced ultraportable laptop that it used to be once. The latest version starts at $999 (like the previous version) and the lowest model packs an Intel Core i5 CPU. No one needs the white MacBook anymore. It got quietly discontinued.

The new Mac Mini desktop comes in two configurations priced at $599 and $799 respectively. Neither of them have a CD drive anymore. The new Airs start at $999 and $1299 for the 11-inch and 13-inch models. No model has a CPU lower than an Intel Core i5. Thunderbolt ports and backlit keyboards have also been peppered in.

The white, mid-range 'MacBook' has bid us goodbye. Apple quietly discontinued the said range of laptops with no prior warning. However, as of now, the MacBook is available refurbished from Apple. The only two ranges of notebooks that Apple now sells are the MacBook Air and the MacBook Pro.
