Capture window transparency, mouse pointer and more with Shotty

I've for long been search for a perfect screenshot program for Windows. You see, I am the author of a tech blog. I found Shotty. It's an amazing program that runs in the background, completely, consuming very less memory, and allows you to take screenshots like no other program has ever done.

Memory efficiency

As you can see, very impressively, Shotty takes only about 4 MB of your RAM. Even if you're running a very weak, old computer, it won't slow you down.

Set an image as desktop background in Chrome

Many people are disappointed that Chrome does not explicitly allow an image to be set as background by right-clicking it. You need to save it to your computer, and then set it as your wallpaper. This is very irritating. Apart from this, Chrome is a perfect web browser. But I know exactly how to enable that.

Google Chrome - The platform of tomorrow?

The iPhone and other devices running the iOS have become amazing platforms for developers. With over 300,000 apps and games available for the iPhone, iPod touch and iPad, there is no doubt that Apple's mobile operating system has set the standard for mobile apps. Android, Google's mobile operating system is not very far behind. And very recently, Android has crossed iPhone sales.

With the world slowly moving from their computer to the wonderful world of the Internet, and the cloud taking more importance now, Google is creating an operating system for computers, primarily netbooks, which will focus more on the Internet and web applications instead of programs installed locally on the computer, for all the work. It will essentially be a version of the Google Chrome browser built over the Linux kernel.

Facebook notifications land in TweetDeck... for Chrome

For a really long time, people have been wanting Facebook notifications as an added feature to the already awesome TweetDeck. If you don't know, TweetDeck is an Adobe Air program that brings together your online social life all in one place, for your desktop, iPhone or Android phone. I started to use it, coincidentally, a couple of days ago.

As soon as I installed TweetDeck and started getting around the feature rich interface, I noticed this limitation. There was no support for notifications on Facebook, while notifications actually power what you do there. I looked up online, and found that a lot of people were angry about this.

Google eBooks takes literature to the cloud

I recently started the series on 'Going to the Cloud!' and now Google releases eBooks. Just consider this the next step after you start browser sync.

If you saw that video, you pretty much understood everything. Google has lived up to the rumors and the eBook store has arrived. For now, only the free books are available everywhere, and the paid books are available only in the US. But I'm sure other countries will get it soon enough.
